Maple-Caramel Popcorn

Alex has been begging me to make another batch of my Caramel Popcorn and I finally had time to oblige. Since I try to never make the exact same thing twice, I decided to add maple syrup for a more complex finished flavor. And let me just tell you, this stuff is addicting! I actually doubled this batch since we were going to have company and they finished it off in a matter of hours.The maple and caramel flavors combine beautifully in this recipe. The finished product is an insanely delicious, fall flavored popcorn. I used Trader Joe’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup but you can use any maple syrup you have on hand, although I think a lighter maple syrup would lend a better flavor to this recipe.You can easily whip up a batch of this in under five minutes, the longest thing you have to do is bake the popcorn.
