I made these a couple of weeks ago to use as topping for my Butter Pecan Cupcakes. They are a fantastic compliment to these cupcakes and would also be great by themselves! Anyone you serve them to will be highly impressed with your candy making abilities.You will absolutely need a candy thermometer for this recipe. It is possible to make them without one. However, you will make it 10x’s harder on yourself. You will have to constantly test the candy to see when it is right to take it off. However, if you have a candy thermometer you can simply bring the mixture to the correct temperature and voila! There you have it, perfect candy![amd-yrecipe-recipe:140]

October Favorites

Here are a few things I’ve been absolutely loving in the month of October!ZoombinisThe last month I’ve been OBSESSED with this game! This was one of the first computer games I actually remember playing and I loved it then, and I love it just as much now. The game consists of a bunch of logic puzzles that you have to solve in order to safely get the Zoombinis to Zoombini Isle. It is available on the google and apple app stores.BlindspotAlex and I have absolutely been loving Blindspot this fall. Whenever we see a new episode it is alwasys the first thing we watch, no matter how behind we are on other shows. We’ve been watching it on Hulu, but there are some episodes available on NBC’s website.Root Micellar WaterThis has been a miracle product for me. I received a sample portion of this product in last month’s Pretty Club and have been using it almost daily since. I am in love! The full size is now available on their website. You will absolutely love this product from the moment you try it!!!Au Naturale – African Affair LipstickWhile I’m not a huge fan of the formulation of this lipstick, the color is incredible! It is a deep plum color that looks amazing for fall. It has been my go to lipstick for the last several weeks. You can read my review on Au Naturale here.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

I LOVE these cookies. They are absolutely incredible. I need to get a gluten free version made ASAP so that I can eat them to my hearts content rather than just sampling a piece. So be on the lookout next week for a GF version of these!My Mom gave me this recipe and suggested I try it. I thought it sounded very good and seasonal so I went ahead and made it. Oh man! These are fantastic cookies. They are both completely soft and moist, yet full of over the top flavor and a slight bit of crunch. I’ve taken these several places already and people just raved about them. They a little piece of heaven in a cookie.Since I used fresh pumpkin puree in the cookies they spread a bit more than they would if you used canned pumpkin. If you’d prefer thicker cookies you can simply add a little bit more flour and baking soda to thicken them up. However, if you are using canned pumpkin, DO NOT change the ratios. If you do, you will end up with dense cookies. Canned pumpkin doesn’t have the same moisture content that fresh puree does.
